To increase the durability of your purchase we have some tips and tricks to keep your jewels sparkly!
When silver comes in contact with oxygen or sulfur, there is a change the silver will appear dirty or discolored, they chemically bond to its surface.
If you wear your jewellery often it won’t tarnish, because of the oils in your skin, this will keep the silver “clean”.
If you don’t wear your jewellery for a while, make sure you clean the silver and store it the right way. Store your silver in a airtight plastic bag with anti-tarnish strips separately from other jewellery.
Of course you have the commercial silver cleaners but for a more economically- and environmentally-friendly way you can make a DIY Silver cleaner.
1. Olive oil and lemon juice: Mix 1/2 cup lemon juice with 1 tsp. Dip a cloth in the solution and wring it out, then polish the silver, rinse, and dry.
2. Make a paste of baking soda and water and use a clean cloth to apply a pea-sized amount to the silver and polish.
Run the silver piece or pieces under running warm water, and dry with a clean cloth.
